I couldn’t wait for Monday, so I got on the scale, and I was 229 this morning!! Of course that only means 4 days for a one pound loss, but I am now in the 220’s!
This gave me extra motivation to pull through today. Sometimes I get tired of eating the same thing so often. I need to order some more varieties on my next Medifast order. So far there have only been a few things I didn’t like. I also need to experiement more with recipes to make with my mixes. I found a great brownie recipe, but it takes 8 packs of medifast food to make a pan! If it doesn’t turn out, that is an expensive mistake. Not to mention almost 2 days food that I won’t have on hand. Here’s the recipe - has anybody tried it?
Medifast brownies
4 packets of non fruit oatmeal
3 packets of chocolate shakes
1 package of chocolate pudding (or another choc shake)
3 T. canola oil
4 packages splenda
1 T of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Mix all ingredients and then add water until it looks like brownie mix. Use a 9×13 cake pan, sprayed with non-stick spray on butter, and bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. It makes 8 servings.

I should be THRILLED with 4 pounds, but at the same time it is disappointing. I bet the fajitas cost me. I would have liked to been able to say “Look at me, I lost 20 pounds in 3 weeks on Medifast!” And I would have liked to have seen the 220’s. I want them so bad I can taste it! Good thing fantasies don’t have calories!
But I am happy to an extent. I’m 230 pounds, and just 3 weeks ago I was 248. My pants are looser, I can see it in my face, and I feel a lot better about myself, especially at work. I’m the biggest one there!
When I break 20 pounds, I’m going to buy myself some sugar free drops to make some interesting shakes. That will definitely be soon! Maybe I’ll make Wednesday an honorary weigh day. :0

I’m not having any problems at all staying on plan today, because I had an upset stomach all night. Eww, I had stomach pains and gas all night, and I think I had to go at least 4 times before I was settled. I just ached. I’ve learned my lesson, I hope!
Tomorrow I weigh, and I really hope that the fajitas didn’t set me back. Supposedly you go in to ketosis with Medifast, but it doesn’t seem possible with 100 carbs a day. Maybe I should buy some sticks. Anyhow, that is how the fat loss is supposed to be so easy on this diet.

Ok, I’ll admit that an authentic Mexican restaurant was not the smartest place to test restaurants with. I had fajitas, hold the tortilla. I did have a couple of chips when Joe and Dylan went to wash their hands. Megan was at the gumball machine looking for the golden gumball and I just dove right in. I was so ashamed when they came back! I had extra pico and salsa on my fajitas, and I probably went over on veggies a little, but I’m more worried about the fat. They were just dripping.
Alright, for the first time since I started Medifast, I’m not looking forward to weigh in day. I really hoped for a 6 pound weight loss so I could break 20 pounds!

Hmm. Nothing that means ‘pound’ rhymes with dollar. But I don’t know if I lost a pound or not, I’m holding out for my big weigh day. Fat ME, looks forward to weigh day!
Today was rather ho-hum. Food can get boring now. I suppose that is smart though. I used to radiate around the dinner plate. I know Joe and the kids are missing restaurants. Maybe I should suggest we go. I’m strong enough to say no to the bad stuff.

I just discovered the BEST stuff. Morningstar Farms vegetarian sausage patties! Just as tasty as Jimmy Dean, but it won’t seal my arteries shut! Oooh, so good. I wish I could find some delicious biscuits that didn’t have any fat in them, and I’d have a good old country breakfast just like my grandma used to make.
I had scrambled eggs and veggie sausage for dinner, and I had my ‘green’ with lunch. I added last nights leftover zucchini, a half cup of chopped tomatoes, and some bouillion to the minestrone soup mix this morning. I swiped Megan’s thermos and brought it to work with the soup in it. That was nice. The dried beans had a chance to get totally soft before I ate it (although I rather like the crunchiness of the fresh soup.) and it was filling. So was dinner!
I guess my stomach has started to shrink. Strange how I fill up on so much less than I was used to eating before.

Yes sirree, I am HAPPY! I could have kissed the sky when I weighed. This is just amazing. All the ads say you can lose 20 pounds in a month on Medifast, but I never lose like the diets advertise. But by golly, could it be possible that I could even lose 30 pounds in a month?? Well, on second thought, I hope not. That’s awfully fast. I don’t want a lot of loose skin. I read that skin might not droop so much if I lose slower.
That’s it for today. I’m going to have a little celebration now. Cuddle time with Joe!! I bet I’m much nicer to squeeze.

I thought I should write about something else important to me other than ‘OMG, I lost another pound’, lol. It’s diet support. I ‘hang out’ at two support sites. I’ve been a lurker at 3 Fat Chicks for a while - what a great place! I really should sign up and be a part of things. I also discovered the Medifast community when I bought the food. You can only see/join the Medifast message board if you buy the product, so of course it was mysterious and I had to sign up. Both places are very important to me. It’s nice to know I am not alone. Medifast especially - they have a lot of good recipes and tips to handle the hard times. There isn’t that much Medifast on 3 Fat Chicks (you gotta love the name) but they are a funny, and there’s more to weight loss than just liquid diets. I feel prepared and very fortunate to have found both of these places.

I planned on writing every single day, but it’s been a busy couple of days. Megan had a playdate with friends, and then her and Dylan both had to have extra karate classes this week because they’ve got a test coming up. I am trying to keep Megan busy so she won’t feel so lonely. She loves school! She’s very social, not to mention 9 years old going on 16!!
Today I could have strangled a man. He walked in with a box of candy bars and set them on the counter, right by me. Yes, he was the vending machine guy. It was so HARD to resist. He put in these cinnamon sugar cakes. I used to love those with a latte! I just hate that I had to get fat in the first place, and I wouldn’t have to go through times like this. I feel silly telling Joe things like this, and I know better than to tell anybody at work because all I ever hear from them is “Oh, just ONE won’t kill you, Ginger!”.
Yeah, it will.

I could cry. I really could!!!! I weigh 239.5!!!! It’s been so long since I’ve seen the 230’s!! I know, it’s really nonsense to love weighing 239 pounds, but I didn’t think I’d ever get out of the 240’s. I just feel like I’ve been awoken from a long, foggy sleep. One week, and it hasn’t been so hard - actually it’s been harder on my co-workers than it has me!
Medifast is known for it’s fast weight loss, but I just didn’t really see myself losing so fast, but now that I feel it, I want to tell everybody. If you are stuck, and wanting to lose weight and can’t find a way, try Medifast. And there’s a reason it’s called Medifast. I wish I did this years ago.
