I think I’ll try Slim Fast. It’s so cheap, and all of that chocolate should be easy! I just have to make sure the kids understand that this isn’t Nestle Quick and candy bars, lol. Joe just rolled his eyes when I told him what I wanted to do. I feel bad that I’ve not been able to stick to anything. Solid food is just so tempting! Maybe if I can wean myself off of fattening foods this way, I’ll finally be able to lose some weight. I’m glad I started this blog, because it’s becoming difficult to discuss my diet with Joe lately.

This is totally unlike me, but I’m thinking about trying (drumroll please)……. a liquid diet. Ok, maybe not totally liquid, ala Oprah’s big diet way back when. (Yep, I’m telling how long I have been chubby and paying attention to celebrity diets)
It may not do any good, and it might be horrible, but I’ll look in to it. I was reading about it online, and while it looks strict, it got great results. Maybe it’s just slick marketing.

I’m not at square one, because I am down two pounds after all! I’m just going to cut back and try and get in some exercise time for now. Maybe I’ll join Curves. I know there has to be a way to lose weight faster. I shouldn’t be so pessimistic, but it is hard to work hard and hardly get anywhere. And I have to admit, I was hungry a LOT in the past two weeks. Maybe it is because of all the sugar I ate. Looking back, I didn’t eat many vegetable, fruit, salads, etc. I ate a lot of frozen dinners. Not that I was unhealthy, but I pulled my South Beach Cookbook back out to look for good recipes, and it made a lot of sense. I ate a lot of pasta and potatoes, and they were probably making me crash, and then get hungry. Maybe I could try the WW Core plan. It’s a lot like South Beach, but I don’t have to do a detox.

Well, I weighed, and I’ve lost 2 pounds. I’m really frustrated. I’ve been almost perfect, and at this rate, I’ll never get it off. I know, add it up over a year and I’ll be doing good, but isnt’ the beginning of the diet supposed to be The Big Bang? I know I haven’t been perfect, but not making excuses, life gets in the way sometimes. It’s hard to plan bag lunches for work, eat out with the family, go to movies, etc and know exactly what you’re eating and/or be able to shop for it and have time to cook it. Sure, I could do it all just right and let my kids go to school looking like orphans, but I just can’t do that. I know I am supposed to put myself at the top of the list sometimes, but I do have so many responsibilities and it is hard to keep up with everything I need to.
What I need is a working woman’s diet! Any suggestions? Help!!

I ate some of Joe’s pizza the other night. I was just so frustrated and hungry, and it smelled so good. I thought I could just eat fewer points the next day to make up for it, but I didn’t do that. Now I weighed this morning and the scale hasn’t budged. I thought Weight Watchers was supposed to be more flexible and still work! It’s also frustrating to eat out at lunch and not know just how many points or calories or fat grams are in my meal. Apparently guessing isn’t good enough and I need to do better. I can do it!
I stuck to plan all day today and didn’t go over my points. YAY for me! I even had enough points left for dessert, so I ate a WW frozen chocolate eclair. WOW that was good! The kids also wanted them, so I’m glad I bought two boxes. They can be awfully expensive if we feed them to the whole family.

I think I did pretty good today. I didn’t bring lunch to work, so my alternative was going to eat with friends from work. I don’t know how many calories/fat/fiber grams were in lunch, so I’m giving it my best guess. I had a salmon salad. The salmon was coated in honey, but I scraped it off and took it easy on the dressing. I had some grapes and yogurt for snacks, eggs for breakfast, and roasted chicken and vegetables for dinner.

Fran brought in a box of donuts and O.J. again today. I decided to have one donut, since it’s allowed on my points plan. I didn’t think it would be too bad, and I drank water instead of the orange juice. I spent 4 points on a WW egg mcmuffin sandwich, and 8 points on a WW pizza for lunch. Then I had one of those 100 calorie cookie packs, and it had 2 points. OK, I had two packs. I just checked the Krispy Kreme website and one chocolate covered creme filled donut contains 9 points!
I decided to skip dinner, and I ordered a pizza for Joe and the kids. It was buy one get one free day, which made Joe happy!
Oh dear, while writing all this out I realized I didn’t have anything green today! No wonder I’m so tired, all I ate were carbs. I’ll definitely do better tomorrow. After all, every day in life is a learning experience!

Another pretty good day! I was really hungry this afternoon. I don’t know why, I had a good breakfast, yogurt for a snack, frozen manicotti for lunch, and some Mississippi Mud Pie (it was legal) on my afternoon break, but I thought I would die of starvation on the way home. I was famished before dinner so I had a little bit of zucchini bread while cooking dinner. I had to eat a little less for supper to stay in range for the day, but I made it. I had hobo chicken and some steamed carrots for dinner, and I passed on the baked potato. And I didn’t mind to give up the potatoes!
I had a good day.

Today is my first day on Weight Watchers. I get to have 28 points a day. I’m psyched. I can eat a whole 6 inch sub from Subway for about 7 points! I’ve been hooked on Subway for the last week. Ever since I went on South Beach, I ended up with a massive craving for fresh, hot bread. It’s crazy what the mind does when you’re on a diet.
I’m not going to go to the meetings. They are either at work, or in the evenings, when I’m usually running around like crazy. But uh… yeah, I guess when else would they have them, 6AM? I think I can do fine without it. I read somewhere that WW was one of the most successful diets out there. I’ve been reading a lot online, and I bought a Weight Watchers magazine online. I will be able to calculate the points pretty easy, thanks to the internet! I can have 28 points a day. Wahoo! That’s 4 subs a day, lol.
I’m going to eat filling, tasty things, like egg mcmuffins, yogurt, frozen dinners, and wraps. And, if I leave enough room. some WW key lime pie! I bought a lot of groceries, and I’m ready for this.
